Manchester United are being linked with Viktor Gyokeres after the Sporting striker's performances under Ruben Amorim at Sporting
Ruben Amorim 's imminent arrival at Manchester United from Sporting has naturally led to them being linked with Viktor Gyokeres.
The Reds' current strikers, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in comparison, have netted just three times so far in 2024/25. It's a daming statistic which demonstrates a clear weakness Amorim will be tasked with fixing when he arrives at Old Trafford. Firstly, Gyokeres has not been tested at the highest level. Scoring goals in the Portuguese league cannot be compared to what Haaland did for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga for example.
That's not to say Gyokeres can't reach that level and be a regular goalscorer for Amorim's new team. But his signing would represent more risk than Haaland did when City signed him in 2022.
