United are preparing to join the roster of Premier League sides featured in Amazon Prime's All or Nothing documentary series following confirmation of a remarkable deal understood to exceed £10 million. Sources at the club have informed the Manchester Evening News that they believe it represents the highest sum ever paid for a documentary chronicling a professional football team, eclipsing the figures secured for earlier programmes showcasing Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
The programme will offer supporters an "unprecedented" inside look at Carrick's maiden full campaign in charge at Old Trafford, with filming scheduled to commence this summer. The ex-United midfielder signed a permanent deal last month following his success in guiding the side to third position in the Premier League and securing Champions League qualification for the first time since 2023.
Discussions between United and Amazon initially began during the closing stages of the 2024-25 campaign, but prospects of reaching an accord were quickly scuppered by previous manager Amorim, who expressed concerns regarding the venture. Reports indicate the Portuguese manager was worried that having TV cameras in the changing room and during training sessions would distract his players from their on-pitch performance.
Ex-United manager Jose Mourinho expressed comparable concerns after participating in filming for All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur throughout the 2019-20 campaign.
"I try to forget during the time," he said. "If you ask me something that I enjoy, no. I don't like the feeling of being in Big Brother, I tried to forget them and I think I managed to do that for the majority of the time. "The upcoming series will be recorded during the 2026-27 campaign before arriving on Amazon Prime Video the subsequent summer.
"Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people," said United's chief communications officer Toby Craig. "This documentary will showcase Manchester United's unique people, ambition and culture; from the iconic atmosphere at Old Trafford to the work that goes on behind the scenes at Carrington.
We will share some of the stories of this historic club with our fans and new audiences around the world as we compete at the highest level, both domestically and in the Champions League.
"Manchester United is more than a football club: it is a global phenomenon. All or Nothing: Manchester United was a story we had to tell," said Tara Erer, Head of UK Film and Unscripted Television and Northern European Originals.
