Ben Keatley, 37, used to be exhausted after playing football for five minutes

A 140kg man who gained weight after boredom eating in lockdown and used to “sweat buckets” doing basic chores like mowing the lawn now weighs 86kg and is “enjoying life more” saying he does not recognise his reflection.

He has now gone from a size XXXL to a size M and has said “it’s a good but strange feeling” as he still cannot comprehend how much weight he has lost. At the time, Ben admits that he “did not realise” quite how unfit and overweight he was – until he came across Man V Fat, a football group for men hoping to lose weight.

After keeping up with football training and a healthier diet, within a year, Ben made “slow and sustained progress”, losing around 10% of his body weight, and got to a point where he felt “more comfortable and confident”.
