A recall petition to remove a disgraced MP who ignored strict coronavirus rules has finally opened
Voters in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West constituency must sign the petition if they want Margaret Ferrier to be sacked and a by-election to be called.
Ferrier was earlier this month suspended from the House of Commons for 30 days following an investigation by parliamentary authorites. But Ferrier has urged voters in her constituency not to sign the recall petition - claiming her record "speaks for itself". Michael Shanks, the Labour candidate, has said voters "deserve so much better than a rule-breaking MP”.
