Mark Cagney is one of the country's most respected broadcasters, having spent nearly two decades waking the nation up on Ireland AM - here's what he has been up to since leaving Virgin Media in 2019
Mark was the anchor of Ireland AM for nearly 20 years, having joined the TV3 breakfast programme when it first aired in 1999.

"It was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon and literally about two hundred yards outside my estate and I started to get a really strange buzzing white noise in my head," Mark told Newstalk's The Hard Shoulder at the time.
The former Ireland AM host always thought he was anaemic, but he actually had haemochromatosis, which is a build-up of iron in the body. After she carried out a series of tests on the presenter, he found out he had a hereditary condition called haemochromatosis, the most common genetic condition in Ireland.
