Robins was hired as the club's third manager of the season in March but he could not arrest the immediate decline as Coventry finished 23rd in League One - winning just nine out of 46 matches. But Robins managed to take them to sixth in his first full season in charge and by May 2018, they were celebrating a 3-1 win over Exeter 3-1 at Wembley that sealed their return to the third tier.Coventry spent just two years in League One, finishing eighth in their first season before winning the title the following campaign.
