The mandate will be enforced until further notice.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - On Monday, July 11, a mask mandate has been reinstated for Fort Wainwright Army Base, following guidance from the Department of Defense.
The mandate which started at noon, was taken in response to the recent higher rates of COVID transmission in the Fairbanks area. The new mandate requires that masks be worn in any building on base where people gather, except for homes. It affects all people inside the gates of Fort Wainwright, including visitors and staff. Masks are not required outside. Most Read
