Mason Greenwood has sent a message to Getafe supporters upon the completion of his season-long loan at the Spanish club.
Greenwood has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault. All charges against the 22-year-old were dropped with the player having always vehemently denied the accusations. Getafe , where Greenwood has been on loan for the season, were also interested in retaining the player’s services.
However, Greenwood appears to have quashed and chances of remaining at the La Liga outfit beyond the summer, having issued a ‘goodbye’ message to the club and its supporters on Instagram.He said: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and clubGreenwood made 36 appearances for Getafe, netting ten goals.
