Rob de Pruis, national director of consumer and industry relations for the Insurance Bureau of Canada, said a standard home insurance policy likely has some limits or specific exclusions when it comes to collectables or memorabilia. “The bottom line is there are options available to get proper coverage for entire collectables or memorabilia. It’s making sure you understand the value, understanding what coverage you do have and what options are available to you,” he said.
