'If I didn’t get on well with Laura I would struggle with this whole process'
Matthew MacNabb has said that getting on well with his pro partner Laura Nolan has allowed sparks to fly between them on Dancing with the Stars. The Love Island hunk is more relaxed on the dancefloor after confirming he was in relationship after meeting someone through the show.
Asked if being in a relationship with his partner was working for him, Matthew told RSVP Live: "The aspect of how well you get on with your partner is a big factor. "If I didn’t get on well with Laura I would struggle with this whole process. It is so intense in the sense that you are getting feedback every week and you are working around the clock. "It takes over your entire life. If you didn't get on with the person you are with or enjoy their company then it wouldn’t be enjoyable to be honest." I have adapted to it and I have learned what works for my body in training. "I have become more comfortable as the weeks go on. When you start off dancing, you are in a live environment and it is very high pressure. I am still getting used to that and developing your skills and the way you work is a process."He said: "I didn’t really expect people to be so interested but that comes with being on Love Island. The show is what I am known for so I guess people find it interesting to see how my story develops and how I am getting on with life." Matthew is still remaining coy on the finer details on his romance, but will he reveal all in the final? He said: "I will see how I feel." Matthew will compete against singer Erica Cody, rugby star Jordan Conroy, national hunt jockey Nina Carberry and Paralympian Ellen Keane for a place in next week's final. He said: "I am doing a samba to a remix of One Dance by Justin Bieber. I am completely out of my comfort zone in the fact that I have never been too good at expressive Latin dances. This is a good opportunity to show how much I have grown throughout the journey."He said: "A lot of them have been in touch, especially after I made it to the semi-final. It would be nice to have a few of them over to see the show. I know Brad was looking at coming over if I got to the final but that might be a little bit difficult."
