I now think it may be a spider bite. I noticed a red mark last Tuesday morning but thought little of it. By the time I went to work on Wednesday, my leg had literally blown up.

"Thankfully @dr.doireannoleary took a look at it, and put me on an antibiotic immediately. But even with the antibiotic, the wound is still really sore and painful, and as you can see it’s not very attractive!! I just want to warn everyone out there not to ignore an insect bite as it can become really serious very quickly, especially a spider bite.""That's definitely an insect bite Maura I had the same thing a few weeks ago as I'm always out walking & cycling.

"Thank you for the warning. What a trooper that you kept on working I hope that you can Rest up and take some of the weight off your feet. Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health," wrote another. Another warned: "It could also be a fly bite. My mother ended up in hospital a few years ago. Very nasty indeed. Hope you’re soon feeling better."Read more:
