Dublin played their neutral group game against Sligo in Cavan last year and Kingspan Breffni may come under consideration for the Mayo game this time, if Croke Park is not chosen
Mayo have requested a venue other than Croke Park for their All-Ireland series group game with Dublin next month. The third round of games in the group stage are designated to be played at neutral venues though the CCCC fixed Dublin games for Croke Park in similar circumstances during the ‘Super 8s’ concept a few years back.
“What we’ve asked for is that the game is not in Croke Park. We want a neutral venue. We have made representations, but that is as far as we can take it,” Mayo chairman Seamus Tuohy told a county board meeting on Wednesday night, as reported by the Mayo News. Earlier this week, former Mayo star Lee Keegan told Mirror Sport that the game should be fixed for anywhere but Croke Park.
