Public Schools First McKinney was formed after the school district became a target for ‘several extreme groups,’ according to McKinney Mayor George Fuller who is a director at large for the organization.

Bado, a mother of two teachers and former educator, says the PAC is “general purpose” with a mission to fight for public schools on a grassroots level. As they build up funding, they plan to endorse candidates and will support “pro public school” legislation, she said.McKinney Mayor George Fuller is a director at large for the PAC.
Fuller went on to write: “Our teachers and staff chose this career expressly because of their desire to care for and protect children, suggesting otherwise is misguided and irresponsible. The collateral damage of this political and partisan playbook tact is that great teachers, administrators, and other educators may become wary of the fight and elect to leave the profession.
McKinney ISD spokesperson Cody Cunningham said last week that the Elliotts “did not complete the process to challenge the books and have not pursued any additional book challenges.”She said she is already hearing from others who wish to start similar PACs. Her goal is to have a “Public Schools First” PAC in other North Texas communities, all working on a grassroots level.
