McLaren announced on the 24th August that Daniel Ricciardo would in fact be leaving the team early. It’s put to bed the silly season rumours on whether they would keep the Aussie on. There’s been no further announcement from either parties on any future plans, so now we wait.Fans have now been giving new information on the Ricciardo and McLaren divorce through a podcast.
“We assumed, rightfully so, that he would pick up where he left off. My one learning there is contractual. I don’t think there’s anything we could have done differently for him. I don’t think we could have done something differently to make him more competitive… we tried all of that.”
