The late rock star is one of Miranda’s style icons, which seems right.Miranda grew up in Los Angeles, but far from the ritzy side where his mother cleaned houses for the wealthy. His parents — José and Maria Miranda, who have been married nearly 40 years — came to the United States from El Salvador in the 1970s and met in LA.
“I was not of that world, but I was blessed to be a part of it in some way,” said Miranda, who worked in retail at Max Mara in Beverly Hills in high school. “It was endearing to me because I felt like I belonged.”
