Art, fashion, music and wellness collide at the Colourama festival at Kildare Village

It’s a first for Irish retail: a summer street festival that just happens to centre on shopping. COLOURAMA is in full swing at Kildare Village, and features art, music, design and wellness, with live performances, contemporary art installations, yoga classes and even cacao ceremonies on the schedule. The idea, organisers say, is “to live life in full colour”, with 120 boutiques providing the dopamine shopping backdrop, and the festival lineup doing the rest.

Dublin artist Maser was commissioned to create a new mural for Colourama, while a series of his works, plus those of contemporary artists James Kirwan and Shane O’Malley will be in situ across the luxury shopping destination from now until August 20. Live music outdoors spans jazz, rap and folk, while a partnership with Reformation Yoga Studio brings the wellness offering up a notch.

Colourama Wellness classes are priced twenty euro each, redeemable against a Kildare Village gift voucher, while all attendees leave with a Sprout refreshment voucher plus a Maser-designed tote bag. These events are bookable at kildarevillage.com and highlights include:- Chakra Balancing Yoga Flow - July 22 @ 1pm- ‘Feel Present Today’ - August 5 @ 11am

There are new stores joining the party, too, with latest arrivals including a Sculpted by Aimee store and a jewellery boutique by Oscar Graves. Later this month will see the launch of fashion designer Sinead Keary’s first boutique and a store by the Irish florist One More Thing. Further news, and full details of the Colourama schedule are at kildarevillage.com.
