Diana, who died aged 37 in August 1997, was never pictured wearing the piece of jewellery in public.
Another Cartier piece, Princess Diana regularly wore a gold Cartier Tank Française watch for engagements in the 1990s. The watch gifted to her by her father on her 21st birthday, was believed to have been given to Meghan by her now-husband Harry in the early days of their relationship.
