A memorial mass and commemorative walk were held today to honour Ashling Murphy on the third anniversary of her tragic death. The 23-year-old teacher was murdered while jogging on the Grand Canal near Tullamore, Co. Offaly, on January 12th, 2022.

Mourners gathered today in her memory, with her third anniversary mass taking place at St Brigid's Church in Mountbolus this morning. Members of the public met at the Fiona Pender Monument, before walking along the Tullamore side of the Grand Canal toward Ashling's memorial shrine. The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund thanked those who helped to organise the event to remember the loss of such a beloved member of the community.
