Met Eireann has announced that the Storm Season 2023-2024 is set to begin in September and they are seeking public input to name the first storm with the letter "A".As of now, Agnes is leading the poll with 42.8% of the votes, followed by Annie with 37.6%, and Alicia with 19.7%. If you want to participate in the decision, cast your vote before the poll closes on Friday, 4th August.

Boasting a decade of forecasting expertise in the industry @MetRyan96 has quashed hopes for an imminent return to summer weather in a recent post.His statement pours cold water on any expectations of a quick change in the weather pattern. "Then not enough of a swing back to break us out of this poorer pattern, so self perpetuates Quite unusual when we're seeing" he added.

He continued: "A lot of uncertainty beyond the start of next week though and still a chance of a little more settled weather if cooler for second half of next week."
