Last weekend saw highs of 23 degrees in parts of the country but temperatures are expected to plummet over the coming days according to Met Eireann's latest forecast
Met Eireann says temperatures will drop to as low as zero degrees this weekend in its latest forecast.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Rain in the south and east will clear eastwards early on Friday leaving a day of sunshine and isolated showers. Feeling cold with temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a fresh northwest wind. Saturday will see a mix of cloud, sunshine and showers of 12 degrees, with temperatures dropping to zero at night.
"Some of the showers will be heavy, perhaps with hail, mainly in the north and northwest. A cool day with highest temperatures just 9 to 12 degrees in mostly moderate northwesterly winds.
