Snow, ice, sleet, and severe frosts are expected over the next few days
Met Eireann has issued a 'winter weather advisory' for the entire country with temperatures set to plummet and 'snow' on the way.
The national forecaster warned that snow, ice, sleet, and severe frosts are expected over the next few days. "Some showers of hail, sleet and snow are expected with the potential for freezing fog. Further updates to the advisory and warnings are expected in the coming days." On Sunday, it is expected to be a cool, bright day but could see showers and "falls of sleet" at times. Daytime temperatures will stay between 3C to 7C, but overnight will turn very cold again as temperatures will fall to -3C or -4C throughout the entire country.
