Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann extends Status Yellow snow/ice warning to 26 counties after heavy snow batters Ireland
All 26 counties have been placed under a Status Yellow snow/ice warning after much of the country was bombarded by snow showers on Sunday evening.
"A band of showers will affect Atlantic coastal counties late in the night, some with hail and a risk of sleet on high ground. Lows of minus 1 to plus 2 C., in just moderate west to southwest winds. "Showers will extend eastwards over the country during the morning, some heavy and of hail and possibly some sleet on high ground."Less showery and brighter weather following from the west later. A cold start, top afternoon temperatures will reach 5 to 8 C., in moderate to fresh and gusty west to southwest winds.
