Some great sunny spells are expected at times on Friday but with scattered showers spreading from the northwest during the day
Met Eireann’s forecast for the week has been a write-off for most counties, with clouds, rain and storms predicted after a taste of summer throughout most of July.
Current forecasts show the north, west, and southeast are in for a lovely weekend with temperatures ranging from 15-20C. It will remain mostly cloudy across Ulster and Leinster this afternoon with further showers and locally heavy downpours. Wednesday is due to see some good spells - very temporarily - but showers will become fairly widespread across the country as the day goes on - some of which will be heavy with a risk of thunderstorms.
