Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecasts unusual conditions as mercury rises amid thunderstorm deluge

Met Eireann has forecast unusually warm temperatures over the coming days - but has warned they will be accompanied by a thunderstorm deluge.

“Showers will die out early Saturday night, leaving dry and partly cloudy conditions for the rest of the night. Patches of mist and fog will form in light southerly or variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 7C to 11C. Looking ahead to next week, it said the weather will be “very mild at first” before becoming “a little cooler from Tuesday”.Giving a day by day breakdown, the national forecaster said: “Monday morning will be cloudy with scattered rain and drizzle. This will clear to sunny spells and scattered showers for the afternoon and evening, with some heavy and thundery showers possible. Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C, warmest in the east, in a light to moderate south to southwest breeze.
