Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann forecasts wet and windy weekend as balmy days comes to an end
While the country enjoyed a good few days of mild temperatures and sunshine, Met Eireann is forecasting a big change including rain and strong winds.A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Occasional patches of light rain, drizzle and fog, but some good dry spells also. Top temperatures of 10 to 14 C.But temperatures will nosedive on Thursday night to as low as 1C with slight frost in places.
“A clearance will follow into western areas later. Top temperatures 9 to 12 C. Moderate southerly breezes will later veer westerly.”“Dry and cool for a time, but more wet and windy weather will push in off the Atlantic later in the night, in strengthening southerly winds. Lows of 4 to 7 C.” Saturday will be windy and blustery with “strong and gusty southerly winds veering southwesterly, with gales or strong gales at sea”.“Widespread heavy rain in the morning will give way to sunny spells and scattered showers for the afternoon.“Windy and blustery for a time overnight, especially over Ulster and north Connacht.
“Some scattered showers also, but winds easing later and most places drying out.
