Met Eireann issues Status Yellow rain warning for all of Ireland with Orange warning in place for three counties
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for the whole country as Ireland prepares for a downpour tonight and tomorrow.It states that "heavy or thundery pulses of rain Sunday night and Monday will lead to flooding in places".
The warning is valid from 7am Monday to 12pm noon the same day and reads: "Some very intense falls of rain are possible.The overall weather forecast has it being mostly dry and clear early on Sunday night before the warning kicks in.Met Eireann adds: "However, wet and breezy weather will push up from the southwest overnight with freshening southeasterly winds. The rain will turn heavy or thundery in places later with flooding in places expected.
TUESDAY: Scattered outbreaks of rain will occur, mainly across the north and northeast early on, and later across the southwest. Longer drier spells too though with some sunshine getting through too. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11degrees, in mostly moderate southwesterly breezes. WEDNESDAY: Blustery on Wednesday with sunny spells and scattered showers, some with hail and thunder, especially closer to the Atlantic coast. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds.
