Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann issues Status Yellow rainfall warnings for 18 counties as wind and rain batters Ireland
Donegal, Mayo and Galway have already been issued with a wind warning as gusts of up to 100km/h batter the northwest coast.All counties in Leinster and Munster will be on yellow alert on Sunday. The national forecaster is expected rainfall accumulations of 25mm to 35mm.
The warning is valid from 6am and 6pm on Sunday. A spokesperson said: "Heavy rain during Sunday will give accumulations of 25 to 35 mm."The wind warning was valid from 8am on Saturday and will be in place until 3am on Sunday. A spokesperson said: "South to southwest winds will reach mean speeds between 50 and 65 km/h at times, with gusts between 90 and 100km/h. Winds will be strongest along coasts.""Tonight will be mostly dry with some mist and fog likely to form under clear skies.
