Met Eireann has warned there will be 'showers or possible rain most days' alongside chilly temperatures as a weather front sweeps Ireland this weekend. The rain will be 'heavy and prolonged' at times, leading to spot flooding in places.
There is no end in sight for the unsettled weather Ireland has been experiencing recently, with a weekend washout on the cards.
Issuing a day-by-day breakdown, it continued: “Saturday will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing north through the morning, possibly heavy. Clearer conditions with sunny spells and showers extend from the northwest by afternoon. A cool day, with highs of 8C to 11C in light to moderate northerly breezes.
“After-dark on Sunday, the heaviest showers will be along Atlantic coastal areas. Long clear spells will occur further east. Lowest temperatures of 5C to 8C in moderate, occasionally fresh westerly winds.”
