Met Eireann has forecast stunning weekend weather for Ireland, with glorious sunshine and temperatures soaring as high as 24C. Enjoy it while you can, as a dramatic shift in conditions is predicted for next week.
Met Eireann has issued a glorious weather forecast for this weekend, promising a welcome respite from the recent spell of unsettled conditions.
However, sun-lovers should make the most of the pleasant weather while it lasts, as a dramatic shift in conditions is predicted for next week. The national forecaster has confirmed that the good weather will be short-lived, with a return to wetter and colder conditions on the cards for next week.
"A warm day on Monday with sunny spells. A few showers will likely develop in the afternoon. Highest temperatures 20C to 24C generally in light southerly breezes." The welcome weather change is unlikely to be classified as an official heatwave. Heatwaves are often defined as five days of consecutive above average temperatures, but Met Eireann previously told the Irish Mirror: "That is a working definition used by some other met offices, but the Met Eireann definition of a heatwave is five consecutive days of temperatures above 25C.”
