The snow looks set to continue as temperatures hover around -1C

Met Eireann’s latest forecast shows many areas are due to see the arrival of snow over the coming days as temperatures plunge amid the latest weather warning.

As for the main forecast this week, Met Eireann say it’s due to be “Chilly with a mix of sunny spells and wintry showers, falling as snow in places [today].It went on to say that “the driest and brightest conditions will occur in Leinster. Highest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees. Light northwesterly breezes, gradually freshening”.

Wednesday will feature a “unny spells with scattered wintry showers, mainly in the west and north. Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with moderate to fresh northwest winds. It will also feature “cloudier conditions will develop in the west and southwest with outbreaks of rain and sleet developing at times. Highest afternoon temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coldest in Ulster.
