Met Eireann has issued a status orange rain warning is in effect for Kilkenny, Wexford, and Waterford, indicating heavy and persistent rain with possible thundery downpours.
The warning has been issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, and Mayo. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on the weather conditions. Alan O'Reilly from the Carlow Weather's X account shared alarming images of a flooded playground at a Kilkenny school, where students needed help to exit the building.
