Met Eireann have pinpointed when things will take a plunge to below freezing levels as they have warned of frost and ice - but before then things will take an unsettled turn also

Looking further ahead to next weekend, they predict: "Through Friday and next weekend, there will be further spells of rain, showers and strong winds at times. Temperatures will fluctuate a little too, but generally close to average."Sunday 15th December Mostly cloudy today with patchy light rain, drizzle and mist, but dry intervals too.

Tuesday 17th December Tuesday will be cloudy with rain becoming persistent in the west and spreading eastwards to all areas. It will become quite windy also with fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees. On Tuesday night, rain will clear eastwards with scattered showers following. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with fresh southwest winds, strong and gusty in coastal areas.
