Are we 100% sure it's February?
BOILER-PIPE: Met Éireann reveal hottest temperatures around Ireland today 12 Carl Kinsella Not the kind of weather you'd expect of a February afternoon. The Met Office in the United Kingdom confirmed earlier today that 25 February 2019 will go down in history as the hottest February day on record for the UK. Over on this side of the Irish Sea, we experienced something similar, with temperatures above 16 and 17 degrees being registered across the country.
Met Éireann's official Twitter account has published a tweet revealing some of the most unseasonable results from around Ireland today. Perhaps surprisingly, it was the west that had it the best today. According to the data, the highest temperature recorded clocked in at 17.3 degrees in Mount Dillon, Co. Roscommon. But other locations in Mayo, Tipperary, Kerry and Dublin all saw peaks of around 16 degrees. Some maximum temperatures from around the country today: 17.
