The latest weather forecast from Met Eireann predicts rain for the entire country, from scattered showers with sunny spells in the southeast, to heavy downpours and potential spot flooding in Ulster and North Leinster.

In fact, the national forecaster is predicting rain every day until at least Wednesday, as well as moderate winds.Today - Saturday 3rd August Sunny spells and scattered showers today, staying mainly dry in the southeast. Highest temperatures 16 to 20 degrees in light or moderate southwest to west winds.

Tomorrow - Sunday 4th August A mostly cloudy start on Sunday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, the best of any bright or sunny spells in the south and southwest. A more persistent band of rain will develop in the west during the late morning and extend in to Ulster and parts of north Leinster during the afternoon. The rain occasionally heavy in the west and north with localised flooding possible. Elsewhere should stay mainly dry apart from little patchy drizzle.

Bank Holiday Monday The persistent, and at times heavy, rain will move eastwards during Bank Holiday Monday with the clearance following from the west in the afternoon. Highest temperatures 18 to 22 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds, veering westerly and easing with the clearing rain. Tuesday Sunshine and isolated showers on Tuesday. Highest temperatures 16 to 20 degrees in moderate southwest winds. Showers will become confined to the west coast on Tuesday night and it'll be mainly dry with clear spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures 11 to 13 degrees.
