A cold snap will set in this week with some freezing nights ahead
The mercury is set to plummet this week according to the national forecaster with freezing temperatures of 0C predicted for tonight as well as Tuesday and Wednesday night, with sleet and snow possible on hills and mountains.

While there will be some sunny spells later in the week as the weather warms up and turns milder, overall, this Ireland will be rainy and full of showers with blustery winds as sleet and snow potentially fall on high ground around midweek.
