Met Eireann has upgraded its weather warnings for Sunday as the remnants of Storm Nigel sweep into Ireland. It comes as Storm Ophelia has intensified and is set to cause severe weather in parts of the US.
Met Eireann has upgraded its weather warnings for Sunday to include more counties as the remnants of Storm Nigel sweep into Ireland from the Atlantic.
READ MORE: Ireland weather: Calm before storm as Met Eireann issues warnings for areas expected to be worst hit While subject to change this far out, Met Eireann have advised: “Current indications suggest that Wednesday could be a very windy or possibly stormy day with heavy rain and very strong winds in all areas for a time.”
Met Eireann meteorologist, Paul Downes, told the Irish Mirror: "On Wednesday, some energy and moisture from Hurricane Ophelia could get wrapped up in an upper level low crossing Canada which could produce a potentially strong storm on Wednesday, similar in conditions to Storm Lee a few days ago."
