This weekend's weather will have temperatures up to 21C with sunny spells and scattered showers. However, Met Eireann has warned that very wet and windy weather is on the way for Ireland.
This weekend will see temperatures climb as high as 21C with sunny spells and the threat of heavy rain at times.
The national forecaster says there is a chance of thunderstorms on Monday, and pinpointed Wednesday as the day that most of the country will be soaked by rain and blasted by strong winds. It said: “Wednesday currently looks to be a wet and windy day with heavy rain spreading northeastwards across the country. Highest temperatures of 14C to 17C in a moderate, occasionally fresh southerly wind.”
In the meantime Ireland will enjoy milder conditions, with sunny spells at times. Giving a day-by-day breakdown of what to expect this weekend and early next week, the meteorological service said: “Cloudy and misty in many areas Saturday morning with the odd spot of drizzle. While mild or rather warm sunny spells will gradually develop, well scattered showers will develop too with the odd heavy shower later across the Midlands and East. Highs of 16C to 20C in light northerly or variable breezes.
“Cloudy on Monday with showery outbreaks of rain spreading across the country from the south, turning heavy and possibly thundery at times. Some bright or sunny spells will develop. Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C in light easterly or variable wind. Becoming mostly dry Monday night with rain and cloud clearing eastwards to clear spells and just a few isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 9C to 13C in a light west to northwest wind.
