A yellow heat health alert has been issued for the East Midlands by forecasters - and it's about to get a lot hotter
The Met Office has given people some good news - the exact date it’s finally going to get warmer! A heat health alert was this afternoon issued for later in the week - with temperatures set to soar to around 28C.
The yellow heat health alert has been issued for the East Midlands, East of England, London, and South East. It is in effect between Wednesday August 28 at 1am until Thursday at 9am. Met Office meteorologist Craig Snell said Sunday “started on a sunny and bright note for a lot of the UK” as clouds moved in over Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Potentially come the end of the afternoon we could just see some gales along the Irish Sea coast. And with the cloud, wind and rain combined, for most of us it can be feeling fairly chilly for the time of year.
