BREAKING: Met Office issues new 15-hour rain weather warning for Lancashire with further flooding 'likely'
Further flooding is likely across Lancashire and Cumbria with more 'heavy rain' set to fall on Friday night. It comes as the Met Office issues a new 15-hour weather warning with multiple flood alerts already in place.
Parts of Cumbria are also covered by the warning, with Sedbergh, Millom, Keswick, Whitehaven and Workington included. The warning ends just before Carlisle, Wigton and Alston.The Met Office says that the heavy rain will be 'bringing the chance of some flooding and disruption'. As a result of the torrential weather, it is thought that flooding of some homes and businesses is 'likely'.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, will move in from the southwest on Friday evening then persist overnight into Saturday. 20 to 30 mm rain is likely quite widely with 40 to 50 mm on some hills.
