The Met Office predicts the weather will take a summery turn in the second half of next week.
Aside from the heatwave that bridged May and June, this summer in Scotland has been largely damp and gloomy.
A large area spanning Glasgow to north east Scotland was issued with a Met Office rain warning on Saturday as Storm Antoni lashed the UK. Looking to the week ahead, the national forecaster says things will take a summery turn starting on Wednesday. BBC Weather Scotland echoed the good news, adding that next week will be largely dry and a little warmer with some sunshine.
