More heavy rain and thunderstorms are on the way to Yorkshire as the period of unsettled weather continues.
The meteorologists are predicting that much of the same will continue as we enter June, with further heavy rain, thunderstorms and sunny spells predicted.Following the extreme thunderstorms which saw lightning hit Yorkshire over the weekend, more wet and thundery conditions are set to return to the county as early as Friday.
The Met Office’s long range forecast for the UK between Monday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 29, says: “The week should start on a reasonable note in many areas, with a fair amount of dry and bright weather, especially in southern parts of the UK. Further north and west there will always be more in the way of cloud with a risk of some showers or spells of rain at times.
