Nottingham College's flagship campus has introduced metal arches and bag searches for the reassurance of students after a terrifying stabbing at the beginning of February. The drastic measures were heard at Nottingham Youth Court as a 16-year-old boy was sentenced for his role in the incident.
She showed CCTV of the incident, including a 17-year-old, who has also admitted affray, and is awaiting sentencing, and 18-year-old Ayo Ajayi, of Osman Close, The Meadows, who has pleaded guilty to affray and possessing the machete. The 16-year-old's lawyer, Michaela Dunk, previously said the incident lasted one minute and five seconds. "His involvement was - he kicks out at the 18-year-old - who has a large machete in his hand," she told the court. "That machete was used on him, it went on his back, went straight through to his bone and nicked his liver, and he has to go for a further scan."
