Trams have been suspended between Manchester Airport and Sale Water Park
The incident happened in Hollyhedge Road, Wythenshawe, this afternoon. Greater Manchester Police said officers had responded to reports of a collision between 'a tram and a vehicle'.
"Northern Rail are also accepting tickets and passes between Manchester Airport and the City Centre. The disruption is expected to be in place until the end of the day, with ticket acceptance remaining in place until the situation is resolved. “Firefighters rescued one man from the vehicle before handing them to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. Crews helped to make the scene safe and were in attendance for around one hour.”No trams are expected to operate between Sale Water Park and Robinswood for the rest of the day as a result of the incident, the Bee Network has said.
Customers can use their tickets on the 11, 43, 101, 103 and 368 bus services or Northern Rail train services between Manchester Airport and Manchester city centre in both directions. Disruption to Metrolink services on the Airport line is expected to last into this evening, and passenger can check the TfGM website or social media channels for the latest information.
