But Parsons set the tone. His two sacks pushed his career total to 17, the most of any NFL player through the first 18 games of his career since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. His four sacks in two games lead the league; his four tackles for loss are tied for the NFL lead. On the game’s fifth snap, Parsons dusted Collins on an inside jab step. Burrow beat the pressure with a quick pass but wouldn’t the next play when Parsons’ inside move past Collins resulted in his first sack.
“I feel like me and Micah are a premier duo in the league,” Lawrence said. “Being able to play tackle and stop both of us is impossible. Just putting them in a tough situation to make them figure out who they want to block. Micah is just being deliberate in his job. He is a great pass rusher. Being able to get off the ball and take advantage of his opportunities is all we ask for.On a third-and-long, their treatment was comical.
