Dr Michael Mosley revealed he had a "warning from history" at his father's funeral that left him fearful of the future.
He was known for presenting numerous science programmes and films which explored healthcare in Britain and often put his own body to the test for experiments. Just months before his tragic death, he revealed his drive to maintain his health had stemmed from his own father's death. "Particularly his funeral. His friends said how much like him I was, so he was kind of a warning from history," he told The Guardian. "I do think, on the whole, that genetics are not destiny and you can do something about it." He shared how no male in his family "has made it beyond 72". "I thought, 'that's not a road I want to go down'. My dad, when he retired, basically sat on the sofa and watched sport and that was incredibly bad for him," Dr Mosley told the Telegraph . Police have said Dr Mosley died of "natural causes" and a coroner in Rhodes confirmed no foul play had occurred on Wednesday when he died.
