Tánaiste said that he believes the current industrial action can be resolved before proposed strike action later this month
Preventing a strike by Section 39 health workers is a “priority issue” for the government, according to the Tánaiste, Micheál Martin.
“We need a just and fair resolution that is sustainable into the future. I believe it can be resolved. This is a priority issue that needs to be resolved,” Martin said. The Tánaiste made the comments in a response to a question from Louise O’Reilly, a Sinn Féin TD, during Leader’s Questions on Thursday. Strike action by workers in the sector is due to begin on October 17.
