All eyes will be on the Taoiseach, the President and Washington as a busy day of events and meetings plays out
Micheál Martin will discuss a number of matters with Donald Trump at the annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Washington DC on Wednesday, including "the historic relationship between Ireland and the United States". There has been intensive work underway for some time to organise the trip with ongoing communications between the Embassies in Dublin and DC and the White House .
Speaking about the trip at the end of last month, Mr Martin said he will discuss a number of matters with President Trump. He said: “I look forward , as we've been looking forward to the St Patrick's week, not just in the United States, but across the world. We're a very globalised economy. "Obviously, we will be discussing the historic relationship between Ireland and the United States, we’ll be marking that. as old as the State itself, older than the State itself.
