Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan teased behind-the-scenes pictures of her new project with BBC called Ten Pound Poms as she filmed the period drama in Australia
Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has shared some highlights from her time in Australia as she filmed a new BBC period drama.
The series will explore the story of Brits who moved to Australia during the 1950s in pursuit of a new life after post-war Britain. She captioned the picture series with, "My 1st week down unda.” with emojis of a koala, sloth, wave and surfer. Michelle also snapped a picture of the studios and the set, which looks fitting for the era the production is set in with an old school television.One said: “One of the best countries in the world, you’ll love it!”The series is said to be a “dream” for Michelle, a friend recently told The Sun.
While discussing the show, Danny said: “It is a big, bold character piece about what it means to start again, to be an outsider in a new land.“The assisted migration programme is a little-known part of British and Australian history but offers endless stories about the people who travelled to the other side of the world in search of a better life.”
