Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul last month and now admits he doesn't remember large parts of his first professional boxing fight for almost 20 years
Tyson made his return to the ring last month for his first professional fight for almost 20 years. He was ultimately beaten on points by YouTuber Paul with the boxing legend barely landing a punch over the eight rounds. And now Tyson, 58, has admitted he can't remember anything about the fight after the first round.
Tyson quickly tired in the fight and Paul later admitted to taking it easy on the boxing legend. Asked if he pulled his punches, Paul said: "Yeah, definitely. Definitely a bit. You know, I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be hurt. I couldn't really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool or whatever, but I don't care about what people have to say.
“I almost died in June; I had eight blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.”
