Architect Richard Rogers, who designed the Millennium Dome, Lloyd’s of London and the Pompidou Centre in Paris, has passed away at the age of 88.
The architect who designed the Millennium Dome has died aged 88.building, ‘passed away quietly’ on Saturday evening.
His designs, which also include the Senedd building in Cardiff and Strasbourg’s European Court of Human Rights, won critical acclaim with the Royal Gold Medal and the Pritzker Prize in 2017.The Pompidou Centre in Paris was another masterpiece in architecture designed by Richard Rogers The Pritzker jury praised him for having ‘revolutionised museums, transforming what had once been elite monuments into popular places of social and cultural exchange, woven into the heart of the city’.
